Lately Bridgeland has been involved in several articles here at Skyrisecities Calgary, and it's no surprise given all the activity in the neighborhood. Recent events such as Steps Bridgeland re-commencing construction, the ground breaking of Columbus Court, the arrival of a tower crane at Dominion, and the submission of a permit for the new Bridgeland Riverside Continuing Care Centre have made Bridgeland a busy place these days. It's busy for sure, but it's about to get even busier.

RNDSQR's General Block will soon be part of Bridgeland's bustling activity. It's been confirmed that General Block, a two storey office/retail project will be under construction soon. The property where the project will be built has already been cleared and ground breaking is awaiting the completion of the permit process.

They often say good things come in small packages, and one could say the same about General Block. While small in scale, General Block is a mixed use project that is a bit of a game changer, with three well known businesses as tenants. Village Ice Cream, Phil and Sebastian, and Una Pizza are all businesses that are well known to Calgary and are known for being busy. Those businesses alone would add a fair bit of buzz to an already bustling neighborhood. Designed by FAAS Architecture, the project will also feature office space on the second level and retail at grade facing out towards Murdoch Park.

Skyrisecities Calgary will be sure to return to this development. For more information, check out the associated Database file, for discussion ad photo updates check out the Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
