It's been a couple of months since we last checked in on Dominion, Bucci's 150 unit residential project in Calgary's Bridgeland. At that time mock up panels were being staged for preview, and excavation of the site was in early stages.  Things have been progressing quickly at the site as excavation went through at a good pace, and recently the site reached another milestone with the installation of a tower crane.

For construction sites, the installation of a crane is an important milestone as it signals the beginning of the structure's ascent. From here on in, work on the project will be onward, and upward.

Designed by Urban Agency, Dominion is a highly anticipated project, due to it's unique modern look. It will also be the biggest, and tallest of all the new projects that have been built in Bridgeland in recent years. The overall project calls for two 15 storey buildings to be done in two phases. The first phase is the building on west side of the project, with the east building to come at a later time.

Right in the centre, of what is quickly evolving as Bridgeland's mid-rise core, Dominion will be a purpose built rental building, with retail at grade. The podium contains private door access to homes with front gardens on three sides. Retail, restaurant and co-working spaces feature along 9th Street NE creating active street frontage The podium will also feature rooftop terraces with social areas overlooking Bridgeland's Murdoch Park to the west, and McDougall Park to the east.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
