Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

There was some discussion in another thread about the Bridgeland McDonald's and whether it had seating. Looks like take out and drive-thru only.

Actually went in and tried it this morning and it was surprisingly busy. Anything we can do to activate that area I think is good.

The statues would be perfect at the old planetarium but I’m ok if they just stay put as well.
Be a shame to lose the old CBE building - it’s so unique. Problem is it’s uniqueness makes it hard to re-purpose.
Of course it is owned by a pension fund. I assumed CBE still held it. I guess not.

Here is a pic of a map of where it will be located. Interesting it’s not far from the Genesis Centre. I’d guess less than 2 km. Lots of current and future population to support both. Love the cricket pitches. Calgary needs more dedicated ones.

Doesn't sound like anything too surprising or controversial in the report, nor is the fact that it was on the agenda as it was commissioned by the last council, but of course that doesn't stop the repealers from whining about it.

I haven't read it in detail or watched the presentation, but this looks like a pretty handy 101 on how infrastructure planning works

And if there was any doubt where RCG was making a difference:

(weird that this is such a priority for the councillors in wards 10, 12, 13, and 14). I think this 828 includes plenty of SFHs, but not certain on that.
