It might be cool to have a bunch of food courts in the area if they can get some local food vendors. Show visiting tourists the food of Calgary while they visit for Stampede.

Any update on the status of that new food hall in Union Square?

I sure hope they find the right retail to attract customers. There are already dozens of empty store fronts on 10th, 11th and 12 Ave SW. New residential buildings such as SODO, 6th & 10th, Park Central, Underwood have added more to the mix. Hard to be optimistic about the future of retail and hospitality in the core.

If the renovation is done well i can see the retail being really successful. There is a lot of employment, residents and it is right by Central Memorial Park, with fairly high pedestrian and bike traffic close by.

I walked by there last week. It was long way from being finished and it did not look to me like any work was going on. I wonder how successful they were attracting tenants pre-COVID? Now it would be real challenge.

Very minimal work being done, don't think anything happened during the Covid lockdown. If I had to guess I'd say their leasing has been flat so there's no rush, hope I'm wrong though.

Yes. It is to add an additional track across the river since the additional track is being removed next to the Stampede Victoria Park Station

Cool new in-fill development being proposed for Bridgeland. Still early days but looks like the plan is for a brewery on the ground floor and micro-rentals above with zero parking.

Couldn't find the official thread for the event centre but the project team was officially announced by CMLC today. Dialog + HOK will be designing it and Cana Construction will be building it. Construction starts in August of next year. It's not clear if there will be any further public engagement on the design.
