General Construction Updates

Heavy roof band is the new random rectangle.
It's good to point out that the required insulation for roofs in cold climates, along with the parapet of a flat roof, makes it really hard to avoid the heavy look. There are ways to avoid it, but it's really challenging to work out massing when the top floor maximizes window height - it just ends up looking even bulkier without some articulation.

I've yet to hear a decent explanation from anyone re: random rectangles.

Yes, but it’s the being extended out over the balconies part that’s becoming quite common, especially in Marda Loop. That’s what makes the parapet a prominent feature as opposed to just being the wall of the building.

I don’t remember, but is Local staying as part of the long term renovations of Eau Clare or is it being demolished? Kind of hope it stays.
