It depends on how they are reinforced, how big (or small) the cantilever is and what the load calculations are. THey maybe look a bit thin but nothing extreme.

I think it's the proportions that make it look thin, I would guess they are the standard 8" depth most buildings use.

They look a little thin, but it's hard to tell unless up close. In this post of Avli the same balconies on the east side look thicker in one pic compared to another pic from a different angle.
