Update for this one! A revised DP has been applied for with some changes to the overall elevation and especially to the roof. Also several floors added, height is now 35 floors. They still have a partial BP for foundation and parkade construction I believe so this should not substantially...

Agree re: getting improvement of the urban realm on 16th. I did see on the weekend that the cleaners was being torn down. I am looking forward to that one moving ahead, both for convenient access to Shoppers as an area resident, and to get more density along 16th.

DP just submitted for a new project known as "mosaic" at the NE corner of 16 St and 6 Av NW. Looks fine IMO (although, not sure how that weird fish scale pattern will turn out) and has ground floor retail, but annoyed at the loss of a cool old commercial building, rather than redeveloping one...

I share in the frustration of the loss of a historically significant building. Broward is a great looking project, but should have replaced a strip mall or, better yet, a parking lot.

North Hill Mall is weird - in the time I've lived in the area the mall actually seems to have filled up, with not that many vacancies, although that furniture place where Sears used to be always sems dead. They seem to have more independent retailers and less chains than bigger malls like...

I was driving 16th today and Munro and Harmony are giving a bit of a "street wall" feel to what has previously felt like a desolate stretch of the TCH. Obviously much more work to do but it's a start.

I am pleasantly surprised by the new Olympic Plaza design. I had heard through the grapevine that it would be mediocre, but this looks like a good use of the space. I am especially impressed at how they put thought into how it would be used year round.
