SWITCH|bloc has now reached completion in Lower Mount Royal as signified by the removal of hoarding since the time of our last update. Captured on our Forum, the finished product appears at once both starkly modern and vaguely retro in its two-tone black-and-cedar livery.

Bedecked with a massively thick stone wall at street level, however, the fortress-like appearance of the finished product has left some of our most dedicated readers in the cold. Labelled "impermeable" on our Forum, the undeniably monolithic appendage has left the development rather aloof from its surroundings, its considerable height and length appearing to warrant such a description.

Nevertheless, PLOT. development group's MoDA-designed addition to Lower Mount Royal has now become home to upwards of 40 new residents, its completion representative of a modest yet not insignificant injection of new faces into the neighbourhood.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
