Massing makes it, but I don’t hate the shakes. Variety is always a plus in my opinion. Will be an interesting block now with Anderson building right across the street.
 
I'm going to withhold final judgement until all the cladding is on but I agree, the initial application of the shakes is underwhelming
 
I drove by this yesterday and it is looking really good. My main concern is that all those natural cedar shakes are going to be a maintenance nightmare for the owners down the road...
 
If they do the building paper under it properly, it shouldn't be much of a concern, that type of wall system actually drains really well. It's the fading and weathering of the shakes I'm curious about, and whether they will start to curl at all.
