TBH, the ceder/pine shake is the only part of this project that's never really wowed me. It's looking really solid in spite of it though. The scale is a little smaller than I had imagined too.

How many units are in it in total?

That exact design with zinc shingles instead of wood, would be absolute kick ass.
Agreed, though that would cost about 10x as much at a minimum, and could push the project beyond the realm of feasibility.

Would love to see a pic from the front showing that shrouding, that looks to give the building a bit more cohesive appearance from the side...

Here's a quick updated pic showing the steel plate shrouding being installed around the windows and balconies that will tie the 'mega-dormers' together. It's a subtle but important tectonic detail!

I don't know what it is about that picture, but damn it looks soo good. The composition and the vertical linearity just make it flow so well. You've got a good eye.

I like the unusual mashup of styles here. I think it would have looked better white instead of black.
