Three months since our last update, and Brio has now almost reached its final 12-storey height. Located adjacent to the CTrain just north of the UofC in Brentwood Village, the 163-unit rental development by RioCan and Boardwalk will soon be home to upwards of 200 new residents.

Sat atop a sizeable, 10,000 square-foot retail podium, the L-shaped Brio will deliver a mix of residential and commercial into the neighbourhood. Indeed, the L-shape will be a key feature of the development, allowing for easy access to shops and the underground parking facility.

Close to transit and the UofC, Brio will be a popular destination for those looking to live near the campus. Part of a larger trend towards intensification in the area, Brio is representative of the new face of the neighbourhood.

Once complete, Brio will be a welcome addition to the area, the UofC and its immediate surroundings long lacking in adequate residential capacity and local retail services.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
