Only two weeks since our last update, and progress at the site of Brio by RioCan and Boardwalk, has been swift, the 12-storey rental tower standing tall in Brentwood Village. Located next to a CTrain station, and just a few blocks north of the University of Calgary, Brio represents the perfect opportunity for students looking for a fast commute to class and the downtown core.

Brio will bring 163 rental units to Brentwood Village, making for an influx of up to 250 new residents. The addition of a 10,000 square-foot retail podium will help ensure that the project becomes an integral part of the neighbourhood.

The L-shaped Brio will allow for ample room for street parking and pedestrian access to the ground-level shops, the structure itself to sit atop two levels of underground parking.

Close to transit, shops, services, and the U of C, Brio will be a welcome addition to the area, Brentwood Village quickly becoming a popular destination for students looking live near campus, but without the sacrifices of being far removed from urban amenities.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
