In the weeks following its recent topping off ceremony, progress at the long-anticipated AVLI on Atlantic has continued to move forward. The Inglewood-area mid-rise development has begun to fill out nicely, as the first evidence of exterior glazing work has begun to appear at ground level.

Designed by Sturgess Architecture for Greenview Developments, the 7-storey, 64-unit, AVLI on Atlantic commands an imposing presence upon the local streetscape, one that is toned down to some degree by both its upper level setbacks, and ground-floor strip of retail. Located along 9 Ave SE, in the heart of the neighbourhood, the inclusion of a two-floor retail space was a smart move, one which will go a long way towards integrating the development into the area.

Viewed above from within, the cavernous interior will make for an excellent bay of retail shops. Furthermore, as evidenced by the sight of the new building just across the street, it can be accurately said that AVLI on Atlantic is but one of many projects of late to change the face of the neighbourhood.

Moving up to the roof, the skyline view from the upper floors will be magnificent for the majority of the upwards of 100 residents who will soon call the development home. While this one may have been some time in coming, it appears that it will be worth the wait.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
