Eight months since our last update, and progress at the site of Cidex Group's West Village Towers, has been moving along nicely, the large, three-building project having now risen well above grade. Designed by NORR Architects, the 554-unit residential development will take up an entire block, bounded by 8 Ave SW, 9 Ave SW, 10 St SW, and 11 St SW.
Set to rise to 150, 125, and 100 metres respectively, each of the three towers will be clad in glass and capped with a slanted translucent roofline reminiscent of the Rocky Mountains.
Initially a join venture between Wexford Developments and Cidex Group, the project has been solely in the hands of the latter following the sale of the former's stake back in 2015.
Slated for completion in 2019/20, West Village Towers will bring more than 800 new residents to the Downtown West End, the former surface lot to become a bustling hive or urban activity.
SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
