They are probably going through the motions as it doesn’t cost them a lot of money to do this process. Once it’s approved, it will probably sit on the shelf forever, or they will try and sell the approved project to another developer.

Disagree - ASI seems pretty serious and committed about their 17th Ave play. They are kicking off the book ends; 5th Street and 14th Street. Working inward from there. Their conceptual developments for the Italian joint across from Tompkins Park, and the Fishman's lot are incredible... I don't really know, I'm just hopeful.

Another rendering of ASI's 17th ave hotel. It will be 8 storeys high and have a below grade 2-storey parkade.

Found this small condo project on 15th ave. 5 storeys, but only 20 units.

I believe the rendering makes the project look bigger than it is. The building is replacing only two houses, not a very big lot. It’ll end up looking taller and thinner than it does in a rendering, and with 20 units (4 per floor) I suppose that’s about what you could expect for a lot that size.

The city has unveiled a new piece of art for the Inglewood 12th street bridge. Personally I like it. It's a mix of traditional statue art, but the sparrows give it a funkiness.

Looks like Trico is moving forward with this. There will be 5 buildings in total with the first 3 buildings completed by summer of 2021. These will be purpose rental and the project is named Kingsland, for now.

Really excited about this. Sunnyside Station is one of the few in the whole city that feels connected to the centre of the community rather than at the edge in some horrible traffic median or unsightly ditch. This is going to take that connectivity to a whole new level. I am going to continue investing in this area as I see a lot of upside over the next 5-10 years.

It's hard to see a future where Sunnyside-Hillhurst doesn't maintain a great location advantage due to the connectivity it has with the city centre, pathway network and the big institutions of SAIT and U of C. There are few competitors neighbourhoods - none currently and few likely to evolve - in the northwest for a transit/pedestrian friendly mid-density high street neighbourhood. Perhaps one day University District will become a similar place, but that's a long way off (and with much worse transit connectivity).
