Good ol' "Communities First" slate candidates voting against housing again.

Anyone catch the borderline hysterical woman speaking against? Hilarious and sad all at the same time.

The usual suspects voting against this. I'm sure she'll be reminding everyone about her vote during her election campaign.
I am sure many will be reminding her of it as well. Tough to claim the mantle of fiscal conservative when you consistently vote against developments that would bolster the City's finances.

The traffic issue I sort of understand here. It's near Crowchild, but doesn't connect to it. It's near 26th Ave, but doesn't connect directly to that, either. Even the part of Richmond road it's on is not directly connected to the major Richmond Road west of 29th St (or the third segment east of Crowchild). 60 years ago I think it would have been well connected, with 26 Ave, Richmond Road going in both directions, and the former 24 St SW, but Crowchild turned it into a kind of cul de sac surrounded by sound walls.

I'm sure there's a plan to improve this but I can understand if residents nearby are expecting traffic awkwardness.

Thing with this is you can do some traffic calming on Richmond Road to make it physically impossible for people to drive more than 40km/h. It has to be mentioned that this will take a long time to get to full build out so the change is traffic will be over a very long timeline.
