There is or at least was a proposal for a tower a block north, but it's been radio silence for that one. There's a DP calling for changes to the hotel to the south, but nothing for the 1300 site.
Road rollers were out when I walked by this evening. It looks like it will indeed be a parking lot.Ugh, they're making it a parking lot aren't they...
Marda Loop’s tagline should read “great neighborhood once done” lol
Disappointing. The City should not grant them a DP for a parking lot (correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we have the policy and discretion to do so). The floorplate of this building would have been suitable for a residential conversion.Road rollers were out when I walked by this evening. It looks like it will indeed be a parking lot.
Will probably still be finished before Prairie Block
That's what I say about all of Calgary, it will be great when they're done building it.Marda Loop’s tagline should read “great neighborhood once done” lol
If you're talking about Prairie Block, it still could be residential. No underground parking but it was for sale so the buyer could buy it and apply for a land-use like Nest. I don't see it happening but with the other high-rise adjacent to it, why not?Disappointing. I would love to see a small residential building of around 6-8 floors with retail at the base. Something along these lines. If you're talking about Prairie Block, it still could be residential. Sorry, to be clear I was referring to the building posted by IanBray (1300 8 st) which appears set for demolition and replacement with a parking lot.If you're talking about Prairie Block, it still could be residential. If only we could be so lucky. We need to forward this post to whoever buys the property.I would love to see a small residential building of around 6-8 floors with retail at the base. Something along these lines.

Appears to be a temporary City parking lot, similar to the one next to OJ’s.Road rollers were out when I walked by this evening. It looks like it will indeed be a parking lot.
