General Construction Updates

Road rollers were out when I walked by this evening. It looks like it will indeed be a parking lot.

Will probably still be finished before Prairie Block
Disappointing. The City should not grant them a DP for a parking lot (correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we have the policy and discretion to do so). The floorplate of this building would have been suitable for a residential conversion.

If you're talking about Prairie Block, it still could be residential. No underground parking but it was for sale so the buyer could buy it and apply for a land-use like Nest. I don't see it happening but with the other high-rise adjacent to it, why not?

I would love to see a small residential building of around 6-8 floors with retail at the base. Something along these lines.

Sorry, to be clear I was referring to the building posted by IanBray (1300 8 st) which appears set for demolition and replacement with a parking lot.

Honestly it will probably be used with the loss of parking when Marc and Marda get underway still, this better be temporary for a year or two. Does it stave off the lawsuit being certified lol?
