General Construction Updates

I was going to post about that! I noticed it yesterday morning and was like ā€œholy shit they put Times Square in the deadest part of the core?!ā€ šŸ¤Ŗ Those older apartment towers a block over were basically glowing.

Small update of the one part of the Marda Loop Mainstreets project that is nearing completion from this morning. Feels like the finishing touches are taking forever but it's at least completed enough that you can walk on 18th street now.

Will be a real nice area once everything is all done.

Some more updates from Seton. Second floor on the condo with Community Foods in the base is going up. Also noticed foundation work for the building across the street. Doesnā€™t look like thereā€™s going to be a parkade in that building.

Checked out the Long and McQuade and found out the eastern half of the building will be sublet. Employee told me he hoped it would be a coffee shop. Space looks big enough for 3 coffee shops or one larger tenant. Also the south side of that parcel has construction fencing and some kind of earth or utility work going on. Canā€™t find anything on their site about a development there.

A slew of Eau Claire Plaza photos. Didnā€™t realize it had a big grass area. Looks like they are installing some sort of serious drainage, so still hoping for a water feature/park and an urban beach šŸ˜…

Also the old mill building is getting a sizeable addition. Was hoping it was restaurant space, but most likely storage for parks stuff.

The addition to the Eau Claire Lumber building are public washrooms to replace the old ones that used to be located at the splash park that was there previously. I was hoping the building would have been relocated to be a little closer to the lagoon so that any patio would have a nice view of the water but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Thatā€™s a shame that the building couldnā€™t be positioned better! šŸ˜¢
