General Construction Updates

As a Bridgeland resident, I'd probably be ok with 15 stories there depending on the design. It's downslope, so it's impact wouldn't be quite as big on the rest of the neighborhood if it was built on higher ground.

Although I'd prefer something of that height more in the empty lot next to Steps. Actually, I just wish someone would finish Steps.

Builders behind Radius in Bridgeland are looking to rezone land south of Radius next to build a 15 storey tower with over 10 000 sqft. of retail on base level!
Interesting. I'm happy with 15 floors, it's not too bad given the location, as the only people who would really need to complain are the folks in Radius, who moved in know a building would be built beside them. not a 15 floor building, but still a building. It would be a nice density boost, and the retail would be nice for 9th.

If nobody picks up Steps and carries on, does the bank (or whoever has the loan) simply try and sell it for whatever they can? I'm wondering if the city could somehow buy it a good prices and make it affordable housing using the same design.

Banks don't like holding on to assets with no revenue. They will try and find a buyer so they can get their loan repaid. If that buyer is the City, it could be an option.

I'm not sure if anyone else spotted this, but Spruce Meadows is building a 5,000-7,000 seater soccer venue. In the hopes of including a Calgary based team int the inaugural season of the Canadian Premier League next spring. I think it's a pretty neat idea. I'm curious to see how they work it into their beautiful grounds. It's heartening to read Spruce Meadows' rational for wanting to develop a stadium and put together a team. I'll be living back in Silverado again soon enough, I'll have to go check them out.

That Bucci teaser looks good, I wonder who their Architect is...

Really impressed with Eau Claire Park so far, will be a great amenity once done!
