@DiscoStu Let's hope I'm right lol. I looked into it before buying the drone and could not find anything concrete about not flying them other than the 1 mile radius around the airport (Category A), or the 5 mile radius Category B zone, which governs the height...both of which made total sense, also 'recommendations' not to fly around large crowds of people or busy traffic areas, and also that the flyer has to have vision of the drone at all times, which I think is very important.

@Marcanadian That is indeed my drone video :)

I thought they weren't allowed in a city period, but maybe it depends on the city? On youtube there are dozens of drone videos from around Calgary, and they're all recent, so who knows.

So you can still fly drones around Downtown? For some reason I thought they banned that.

As mentioned earlier, it's a gray area, and it depends on who you talk to. At the moment if you stay away from the airport, busy traffic areas, large crowds, hospitals you should be okay. A man was arrested in the city for flying a drone near the airport, and rightly so.

I know they are banned in London and Paris, but don't know of any other cities.

I recall that the city made a bylaw about flying drones in public parks. By the same token J walking is a bylaw offense as is loud music etc... If owners are responsible it shouldn't be an issue.

Those shots are very cool btw.

Since Calgary wasn't a particularly noteworthy place when art deco sky scraper construction was in vogue (pun intended), the crown will look unique in our skyline. I just wish the buiding's colour was as vibrant as the renders. It looks too beige IRL.

Vogue's crown, closer to completion

Vogue: most improved athlete.

Did not expect to like this one, but I think some vertical elements were exactly what the west end needed.
