I'm surprised how many people like. I think it's very disappointing. I have a unit in 5 west, and almost purchased in this development because I like the quality of this developer (counting my lucky stars that I didn't). But 5 west has a quality brick stone and glass finish. I thought this was going to have some quality stone texture. Instead, it's quite brutal beige stucco (if not stucco per the specs, it sure looks like it), some of the old appartment buildings around it have a nicer finish. Only good thing with this design is the windows don't appear punched. A shame.

The beige section looks to be some sort of EIFS panelling. Personally I like Vogue, I wouldn't say it's better than 5 West, but certainly better than the older places around it.

I think the base could use a little work, but the height is appropriate and another ~250 units in an already dense West Downtown is a welcome sight. Aesthetically I don't see it too different than 5 West, but I am sure as a owner you have a better grasp on the nuanced design elements. Overall, I think Vogue is pretty good, but forgettable. I am more happy that they were able to get something so significant with a large number of new units/residents, especially on a tight site that was empty for a while.

You raise a good point on the older buildings. I am always surprised how many old apartments in Calgary have really well done interiors and modern finishes. Many other cities have nowhere near the level of renovations in the housing stock.

In Surrealplace's shot from May 21st they look to be at about the 28th or 29th floor. That's now a couple of weeks old. Assuming they've come a floor or two since then, they have to be getting pretty close. It's listed at 35 floors. The last couple of shots from SP appear to show that they've begun to taper in. Based on the render, I'd say an educated guess is 3 more floors?

That would be my guess too. Judging by the renderings, it would 2-3 more floors, and then the ornamental stuff at the top.

This one is making a nice impact on the skyline. With the crown feature I think it will bring an almost art deco touch to the weest end. Not bad at all :)

I'm thinking the same thing. So far it's better than I expected so I'm thinking the crown could turn out to be cool.
