Stampede Station | 252m | 69s | Truman

Calgary continues to amaze. Love to see some massive projects in the Beltline like this Beltline Block, and Broadway, but let’s hope to get some smaller scale too on the east side of the Beltline - still lots of empty lots to fill.

Might be more hotel announcements closer to the arena too as these 3 hotels only amount to around 700 units. Crazy to see how many hotels have been built and upcoming in Calgary’s city center.

Once operational, the three hotels will help address “a pretty serious shortfall” in Calgary’s number of hotels, Gondek added – a deficit she noted is most pronounced in the city’s core. She said the city is short roughly 4,500 hotel rooms, about one-third of which should be located near the BMO Centre.

A hotel shortage has been a barrier to supporting Calgary’s ability to reach its hospitality and tourism potential, according to Gondek.

Damn that’s tall. It’s going to be great to see development around that area.
The only part that seems strange to me, is a luxury brand hotel going across the street from the alpha house lol
This probably sounds crazy, but it might be worth it for the Stampede and Marriott hotels to throw some cash towards Alpha house to have them move somewhere else.

Great to finally see development on that site. The original Stampede Station project was announced in 2000. Hopefully this provides the people to support street level restaurants and bars on the south side of the street from the BMO Center such that it becomes a true extension of 17th Ave.

The Stampede could do so much more to monetize its brand and spur even more development in the east Beltline:
-extend the Stampede from 10 to 17 or even 24 days with big name entertainers booked at the new arena every evening
-partner with one of the big casino companies to build a stampede themed resort near the new arena that could be a year round draw

Little bit higher res as linked from Imgur.

I'm sure these are just very early renders, but looks like the shared podium will be retail?

I've updated the height to 252m based on Truman's media info. It could end up being more or end up less, but for now will leave it at that height.
I'm thinking that the short one may be 252m. If they are to be the two tallest towers, then the short one has to be taller than Stantec . If so, the taller one may be pushing 280m, with the additional 7 floors.

With that said, I agree with leaving it at 252, we don't want to get too excited here.

From the article: 'JW Marriott will operate as a luxury hotel, while W Calgary will be a lifestyle-luxury hotel, and the Autograph Collections Hotel will be a premium-lifestyle hotel.'

Trying to make sense of these hotel tier levels has me cross-eyed. Is luxury higher than premium?

I'm sure the render isn't accurate, otherwise this tower will be well over 300m. Residential towers are usually close to 3m floor to floor, so that would give 207m without counting the much higher ceilings on the lower levels, so I'd guess 225m.

Mah wife has calculated the 69 storey tower to be around 207m as well, not accounting for the podium heights and crown. So jiving with you Mountain Man.
