The Hyatt has been an awkward one from the start. It's like a weird French chateaux done in the style of the sandstone/western heritage theme of Stephen Ave....but without the skill/materials/budget to really pull it off. I don't think time has helped it either. I much prefer the Sheraton Eau Claire from that era. While definitely "of it's time" as well, it was a stronger effort.
Speaking of hotels though, I was going past the Le Germain the other day...and it kind of reminded me of what a nice development that is. The material choices on that building feel so much higher quality than a lot of what has been built after.
