I can't remember what is happing for club seats or other tiers of seating. I'd kind of expect the seat colour to correspond to that, at least in the lower bowl. All black seating would be cool though!

I would prefer all black seats. Clean and classy looking. Plus it hides empty seats better than red would. I would assume red seats would appear dirty after a while.

Def some cool opportunities exist...maybe 80% black, with some red/yellow subtleness...almost a blasty type look

They'll likely have 4 or more variants of seating in the building depending on how much you open your wallet.
-The regular seating in the lower bowl, likely with a cup holder
-The plush cub seats
-The even more plush suite seats
-The plain jane upper bowl seats, likely without a cup holder
etc.
And if it's like how things were done in Edmonton and Detroit the upper bowl seats will be narrow

SAP Center in San Jose has a striped pattern for their seats, thought that looked kinda cool. Looking at pictures it's 5 rows of black, 3 of grey / silver, 5 black...

Is anyone aware of any details on the seating color or seating pattern design? A sporadic pattern with different tones of red would be my preference, or I hope they just do solid red at the very least.
I believe the original design had them a dark grey, they'll probably be the same, or black but red would also be cool.

It's a shame Detroit did away with their red seats after a few years, they do have more seating though and the wings were pretty bad at the time so I understand why they did It. I don't think we'd have those issues however.

I think it would shock you, like most NHL/NBA arenas during the regular season, what it would look like with bright colored seats. More empty seats than you probably realize

You can get a poutine at The Angry Chicken (where The Zone used to be) right above section 105. I worked in there a couple times until I left last year.

I don't like the popcorn either. Unless you saw it being made in the machine at the start of a game, it's likely the popcorn you were eating was from a batch that was in a food-safe "buffer" bag where we often stored a bunch in the popcorn room. We'd just dump an entire bag into the machine to warm them up and then bag them throughout the night if we weren't able to make fresh batches and keep up with demand or if the popcorn machine broke. No one was really able to tell the difference anyways. The popcorn you get at McMahon is actually made at the Saddledome a couple days before Stamps games, then transported over.

Another note, the fries we used were from Cavendish Farms haha
Side note, oh my god I went through that google maps of the saddledome and WOW is it old. Good earth as a concession?!?

I work there as an usher now and basically every concession has changed/been moved around. In fact, a lot of the empty spaces (especially on the corners of the concourse) are just empty when nowadays there’s concessions there.

I also see there’s more plaques about the saddledome’s history back then than there is now. Kind of sad to see they got rid of some of them.

There's nothing you can really do to improve the public realm of a bunch of empty dirt fields. We'll just have to hope that the rivers district actually happens and stuff gets built.

It's really too bad they couldn't just reclad the Saddledome and keep it, the massing makes for such a nice contrast with BMO and will look cool with Scotia Place behind it. I hope Calgary hosts the JRs or some event where we can use both buildings simultaneously and give the Dome a good sendoff.

I'm a bit skeptical about the area getting a full buildout, EV has stalled pretty hard due to the social disorder in the area, and until we figure that out, not sure Stampede Trail and Vic Park will fully take off. A new hotel or two in the area could prove a good catalyst though, lots of guests looking for something to do.

I truly feel a couple hotels would be the major catalyst for the area. They would provide constant foot traffic of people looking for something to do. People who live in the condos nearby don’t necessarily go walking around the area. They come home from work, maybe cook, watch TV, go to bed. People staying in hotels don’t usually want to hang around their room and would rather be out exploring and spending money.
