I've bought some bread and pastries from Co-op, but I find them worse than Safeway. But agreed that Save-On bakery is pretty mediocre.

I find the quality of bakeries varies from store to store, more than chain to chain. At l;east that's my own observation.

As for who would take over co-op? Maybe the stores get sold individually to different chains over time?
