This is great, and if we can get the Eau Claire market redeveloped, that would be huge for that part of downtown.

It would be huge for all of downtown. The redevelopment of Eau Claire, especially under the design currently proposed, would be an imperative categorical shift for our CBD. Not only would it be the crown jewels of our skyline, it would bring thousands of people working in the office tower, around 2000 new residents in the development, a new major hotel right along the river, major new shopping and restaurant opportunities basically right along the river pathway, and would force the redevelopment of Eau Claire Plaza. The plaza, in my opinion, is the most neglected, ugliest urban space in our entire CBD, save for surface parking lots. This, along with the 7 tower Eau Claire West proposal, would jumpstart Calgary's CBD from a 9 to 5 humdrum place into a truly 24 hour downtown core. These two developments combined would bring something like 5000 residents and 600 hotel rooms alone. That's on top of the 1600 new residents (Parkside, Telus Sky, Vogue, Avenue) and 700 hotel rooms (Marriott Residence Inn [basically in the CBD] and Marriott Autograph [soon to be UC]) coming downtown from developments currently under construction, not including the East Village. If we can get those two Eau Claire megadevelopments going, we will be in a totally new city by the time they're done.

Hi Group,
Is It 2 Bldgs Under Construction to Complete the Whole Project on What Land They Own? I Know that the Land Has Changed Hands Over the Years in the Areas so Its Often Hard to Figure Who Owns What and What They Have Plans for if Any. I Know Anthem Owns a Section of Land Down by the Sports Centre at 25th Ave. Not Sure What They Have Planned Of Hand. Last I Heard was it Would B 3 Condo Towers Plus a Super Market of Sorts - Sobys (?).

They are constructing three buildings, plus townhouses. Once this is done the whole parcel will be finished.
