It’s a good question. I think someone once mentioned that it was used to in other projects when they needed extra earth for grading.
It would be cool if all the earth went toward making small hills in parks where the land is flat like in the NE.

Those hills you see near the man made lakes in the south (Bonavista etc..) were made of the earth taken when they dug out the lakes.

Saw a drill on site there this week. The high fence on 16th ave prevents seeing what’s going on inside

Nothing happening. The driller is offsite now, I’m hoping this is just a pause. I’m thankful Royop is a developer and not the developer who’s doing Harmony. That one scares me.

No pic today, but the site is inactive. The good news is that there are some fresh footprints on the site in the snow.
Does anyone have any idea what the halt might be related to?

I don’t know if this is related to site work, but Enmax was there this morning. Maybe the pause is related to utilities work?

With this being backed by Royop, I have at least some confidence it’ll start up again, unlike the the one across the street, seemingly run by amateurs.

Hydrovac action happening at the site. This combined with Enmax being on site on Monday might be the reason for the hold up. I’m thinking maybe they had to stop excavation until they got some utility location work sorted out.
