There’s people blaming some form that is supposedly required by the UCP. Not sure how accurate that is, they had to fill out a form for me because I wasn’t on the list, even though I was sure to update my registration before the deadline. I wonder if there was some issue with the elector list from Elections AB. Not meant to be nefarious just maybe an error or timing issue.
Even saying that the form took at most 2 minutes, and the Federal election had a very similar form if you were not in the rolls.

It's completely accurate; it's a hurdle that was added by the UCP for no good reason. (It was added for the bad reason that suppressing votes makes it easier to implement unpopular policies.)

They had to fill out the same form for me, even though I was on the electoral roll, like most people. They literally copied by hand information they already had printed in the book in front of them onto a paper form like we are a bunch of medieval monks trying to preserve Scripture, then I had to read the information they wrote down even though it's my own information, then sign it, then they had to file the paper.

Adding 2 minutes to a 1 minute process turns a 20 minute wait into a 60 minute wait.

Finished my 15 hour shift at Bishop Carroll voting station just before midnight. We're all tired. Our team (9 DROs, 3 IOs and a ballot box officer) managed to count everything in about three hours. I was working as an IO, but oh my god the amount of paperwork the DROs had to do. No wonder why it took forever.

Glad to see a lot of people show up to vote (and even spotted Duane Bratt at one point). Crazy to read it took over 2-3 hours at other places as the longest wait we had was one hour. We were told our target from when you arrive to leaving with an "I Voted" sticker is 20 minutes - but that obviously goes out the window when there's over 100 people in line. It would've been nice if they were able to use the laptops from advance voting a couple weeks ago (I was one of the 40 on-site IT techs the city had brought on for that).

Please bring back the tabulators. I never want to count so many ballots ever again.
