Calgary International Airport

American Airlines appears to be adding YYC- Laguardia (LGA) for S25, I believe this is now the longest route out of LaGuardia.
Did some research on the 1500 mile limit. Saturdays are a slow day at LGA so they lift the limit on that day. Cool that we get at least one day a week service there. No many airports have service to all 3 NYC airports

AA also increased ORD to 2x daily, so now AA will fully surpass DL to be the 2nd largest US carrier.

Peak schedule is now:
DFW 2x daily 321
ORD 2x daily 738
CLT 4x weekly 321
LGA 1x weekly 7M8

Other changes include:
-Condor increasing from 2x weekly to 5x weekly
-UA cancelling service to LAX
Transborder continues to look good.

Not sure if it was just updated or they changed links but they have it updated until the end of November now. Domestic had a bit of a recovery with transborder down slightly. International up a lot in November, likely as a result of YYC-NRT being year round and increase to daily frequency on YYC-CDG. These previously ended or reduced frequency as part of Westjet's winter schedule

Same link, but they updated. I guess they saw me lamenting the lack of numbers and got right on it!

Looks like they should easily pass last year's record of 18.493M

Looks like domestic have recovered from Lynx's exit. I'm surprised Flair has continued to survive, we'll see if they make it through a lower dollar.
Most of Lynx fleet is now in service with Westjet, a few are still waiting to be re-painted. Surprised Flair has survived this long, hopefully the lower rates counteract some of the exchange rate effects.

I wonder if there's any plans to do some of this work over the B gates closure, seems unlikely a roof repair would take 18 months. The entrance to B gates security is also boarded up. From the renderings, they were pretty far down the design and while waiting the "couple years" for Air Canada check-in to finish, COVID happened. They've also changed CEOs since then but it definitely makes sense to consolidate to a single, larger security area rather than operate 3 security lanes. YYZ and YVR, significantly larger airports operate 2 domestic security (and YYZ because they are physically separate buildings)

"The plan is to build the new screening area at concourse B where the temporary Air Canada check-in is currently. But the move will have to wait a couple of years until new check-ins for both Air Canada and WestJet are completed, Sartor said."

let''s expecting some good news on Monday
Spoiler, the new route is going to be Mexico City. The event is being held at a Mexican restaurant, and for a few hours after the announcement, Mexico City was back up on destinations list on Westjet's website. They've since removed it.

I guess the only reason this is getting an event is because it's a Mexican destination in the summer? They already fly so much to Mexico, seems odd for this to be an event instead of a press release.

We used to, on both WS and Aeromexico. Both failed and were cancelled not to long after starting. MEX lacks the vacation traffic that other Mexican cities have, so in the past YYC-MEX has been a tougher route to keep alive.

I imagine now that Westjet's YYC hub is much larger, they'll be able to sustain good enough passenger loads for it to work.
My only hope is that they did in fact somehow obtain slots at MEX and not NLU, as that would pose a whole new challenge.
