Video of the Green Line construction industry event that was held the other day.

A few tidbits from the video I wasn't aware of before. Opening day is being targeted as June 30, 2031. It kind of sounds like that might be between Shepard and the Event Centre station, not necessarily 7th Ave. Also, each LRV needs to have 1,000km of testing prior to being put into service so track work is planned to be built from the south to the north to allow LRV testing to begin while construction continues on the rest of the project.

Just spitballing: what if Green Line N ended at 96 Ave, and the communities north of it were instead served by a spur off the nose creek rail line, running frequent automated trains in a s-bahn style service to downtown? This could potentially be done much faster than the centre st portion of green line too, if we're already doing the necessary rail upgrades for airport-downtown service and stations.

Has anyone come across anything about which factory (or factories) CAF is going to be building the Green Line LRVs in? I'm assuming some early production has got to be kicking off shortly if it hasn't already.

A number of challenges with that - primarily that it would deliver those northerners to Grand Central Station where they'd still need to transfer to the green line to get to DT anyways. Might as well keep the direct connection throughout Centre St

They will be manufactered at CAF's facility in Zaragoza, Spain and manufacturing should be underway at this point for first deliveries in 2027
