Commitment is there. I wish the full project from Keystone to Seton was being built sooner rather than later.
Hello from Edmonton!
I was just wondering if the green line is close to approval yet?
Oh ok so is it under construction or will it be soon?It was approved like years ago. The final decisions on routing were made a year ago, and all funding was secured last summer. The recent news about the federal funding was mostly just a photo-op for the politicians involved.
Soft construction is underway, so like site prep for the entire line, and the hard construction (tunnelling through downtown, track construction) will start in 2020.
I believe they have bought some of the needed land and that they are still in the process of buying some, not 100% sure yet.Has the city acquired all the land needed for the project yet?
Expropriation. Here's a question for the experts. What happens if somebody doesn't sell their land to the city? Is there some sort of legal procedure to make them sell the land?
