They definitely look to be slanted for drainage. The typical slope is 2%, these look more like 4-5%
I'll take a more severe slope over what happened at my old "luxury" townhouse...where it was sloped towards the building. That was a fun new-warranty claim after the first winter. One of the many reasons I got out of that p.o.s.

That's likely a mistake from the contractor or Architect. We say 2% minimum so that if there is an error or the building settles (shrinkage for wood frame) then you still have positive drainage.

I know Castello had some negative drainage issues and they spent a ton of money fixing it recently.

Yeah it was definitely a contractor error. I doubt any architect would have designed a negative slope without some sort of drainage integrated.
Even if they accidentally did, it’s still contractor error because what complete idiot would read that and go, well that’s what the drawing says so pour water into the building we must!

Ok ok, I’ve met enough idiots that I honestly could not rule that out.

These rental rates are... high. Not to mention these unit sizes. Truman is building a lot, which is good, but if they're just importing GTA/GVA shoebox condos, not the best outcome.

Unfortunately, $1800 for a brand new, one bedroom 500 square ft apartment is the going rate these days. There are better deals for older apartments.

Might be, but next door there's 650 sq ft for $1850, or 625 for $1750. For pretty much a brand new building.

Signs up on the build for Crave Cupcakes new location. Looks like they are moving down the street from their old location in Kensington, likely due to the construction of the Kenten building. They are adding a coffee shop as well. Website indicates an opening date of August 2025.

DMAP also indicates an application for Sinatra's pizzeria. Haven't found any news to confirm this (https://www.sinatraspizzeria.ca/)

Nice to see some businesses going in. Right around the corner we have a business going into 114 19th street. The area's coming together nicely.
There's a Fresh Co., a tailoring business and Club Pilates in addition to the pizza and Crave. Has anything been announced for the one on 19th?

I thought this building was all condos but seems to be some apartments too. Seems like the exterior isn't much improved in the interior. Maybe they wanted to save on brochure costs, if everything is black and white, no need to print colour.

The info is under renttruman.com. On trumanhomes.com, it's not listed under their condos, and the only thing you can find is a construction update on "Frontier Condos." Everything else is at renttruman where they do call it a "premium condo building" but everything else on that site treats it as rental apartments. Perhaps they've pivoted towards rentals (only?).

The floor plans are "interesting." Several of the 2br plans are "sky town" bi-levels, which may be nice but curious because stairs take space. Most/many of the floor plans are of course one level.

Also, a lot of them have at least one bedroom with no exterior windows! I mean 1-br units where br is interior and only living area has exterior windows, 2-br with one interior br, and even 3-br with up to two interior brs. I hope for the best here, but doesn't this detract from rental value?
