Calgary Flames Official Thread

We're ahead of Edmonton, Vancouver, Colorado, Nashville... Those teams are all pretty stacked, would be amazed if they finish below us. Never know what will happen though, the parity in the NHL is pretty ridiculous these days.

I also think there is zero chance Andersson or Weegar are moved, they are the foundation of our D core and I think we can start to build around them. Best case for moving a player is Huberdeau, he's currently on pace for 43 points... lol

Rangers tonight, hope Wolf gets the start again, think he's earned the #1 job. Vladar has played fantastic, but the team seems more comfortable in front of Wolf.
They definitely should trade Andersson. Love the player but that contract and his production will probably fetch a big return at the deadline especially with another year on his deal. He's 28 now, by the time the flames are competitive again, he'll be 30 and likely have an 8 year 7/8M contract as a declining player. Weegar is much harder just because of his contract, and obviously same with Huberdeau.

I keep waiting for the wheels to come off and they keep winning. This is kinda crazy. Won't catch the game tonight, it's on Prime again. :(

It is realistic to expect them to get more than 50% in their next four games too: Ottawa, Detroit, Columbus, and Pittsburgh.

There's a back-to back in their between Columbus and Pittsburgh so 6 out of 8 points is probable and 4 or 5 points in the next four games is still a success but going 4 for 4 and getting 8 points is possible without squinting.

They play weak teams, but their road record isn't great so far. The game against Columbus should be an emotional one, wonder if there will be anything about Gaudreau...

And their record against bad teams isn't great either. This will get us to American Thanksgiving, if we're still well in a playoff spot by then it becomes more solidified. Recent models that I've seen have the flames at 50%, pretty decent odds.

As good as the team is playing right now, I'd be amazed if we finish ahead of Florida. Also, what a convoluted set of conditions on these picks... lol

Heard today they are bringing the Gaudreaus in to town for the home game against Columbus so I’m sure something is happening.

Flames drop the first of their road trip, looks like a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde again this year with the home vs away records lol.

Lots of rumours have the Leafs trying to get Kadri back, I'd trade him for a 1st and a prospect. Leafs must be expecting to lose Marner, not sure how they could keep him and add Kadri's contract.

Refs made that game unwatchable, I turned it off and handed the remote to my wife. See how they play in Detroit.

With the term on his contract you are not getting that for Naz. I think the leafs need to go all-in. With Tavares and Marner, this is their last shot. I'm not sure how they do it cap-wise I don't think Calgary should retain on Kadri, Leafs don't even have someone to ship to us where we can eat money and move on.

Flames had 9 penalties according to TSN, hard to win when you're short handed for basically an entire period lol.

If the Leafs take Kadri, there will be a first coming our way, if they don't have a first, they don't get the player. Similar to Tanev, Tre tried to get Tanev from us at the deadline, but Conny's price was a first and the Leafs didn't have one.
