First Canadian Centre East Tower | ?m | 28s | GWL | NORR

I always remembered how infamous this building was back on SSP. If I remember correctly, the renderings of that old shard design was leaked on the site and the developer specifically asked for them to be removed. It was just funny remembering how everyone kept alluding to it, but was forbidden from posting the images. It also shows you how much design has changed in the last decade because looking at it now, it looks like a dog's breakfast.

I definitely remember it, you can possibly find some of the original renders on an archived Calgary Construction Thread on SSP, if the pics are still hosted anyway...

Thanks for the find. Anyone remember a proposed project, similar look to this, but was gold glass? Looked like something out of Dubai.

That image UrbanWarrior posted was the design that was floating around with renderings with the gold glass sections. I remember the rendering was an aerial view looking down on the tower.

Are you thinking of the 100 storey design that was a concept for the site that Hat Elbow River is now on? I think Surreal Places had dug those renderings out relatively recently....

There were the original Dubai type towers for Elbow river Casino. I don't know if these are the gold towers in question.

Now that I see that rendering, it was definitely the overhead rendering of the FCCII where it made the glass look gold that I was thinking of.

Don't think we have a thread here for old unrealized proposals yet. I think for historical record since we've lost the SSP one we should create one. It's also nice to reminisce.

I thought I remembered there being a thread for that and my memory was correct. Even managed to dig it up.

Did that SSP poster Ctrl-Alt-Del ever make his way here? may have copies of some of his renderings still. Curious how similar the skyline looks to his renders from 10+ years ago...
