Agree about the stadium being only an engine to get things started at WV. There may also be other engines out there to do the same thing. Maybe another downtown campus for the UofC, SAIT or MRU? Maybe a medical facility? Maybe a retail complex?

I think the Chumir Centre has the downtown medical facility potential locked up for the foreseeable future, as they have that entire parking lot to develop the place into a full fledged hospital if need be. Calgary could most definitely use a large downtown campus of MRU or U of C, as we're the second largest city in the country without at least one of our universities downtown, behind only Vancouver. The alternative could also be another major expansion of Bow Valley College, with the addition of student residence buildings. However, I'd much prefer a new University Campus in either the East Village or West Village.
