Great news about that they are ordering more B789’s. Hope they are all based here in Calgary. Could open the world to YYC with 7-11 more Dreamliners. 124 more 737’s. That’s a lot of growth..

I like the usual complainers about the project. The one guy saying from point Mackay there isn’t another tall building to this site. Isn’t there like a 25 story affordable housing building down the street?

Can’t seem to find the project. The lot on 37st/Bowness rd/Veterans way NW is in full development. Drill and many other pieces of equipment at work today

So when demo is done. What do we know they will be doing? They plan on building the tower in the SW corner first? Convert the office building to residential on SE corner? Any more than that?

Could some of the office conversions be turned into social housing? Mustard Seed has built or converted a few buildings and they seem successful. Might be a start if a thousand units are converted this way. Not all homeless are drug users

A few said don’t build it. Just look before my original comment. That’s the reason I wrote my comment. Besides superficial treatments on the outside of the building there’s not much wrong with this building. It provides “cheaper” rentals than most of the high end stuff getting built. To me...

When the experts on this page say not to build something because they don’t like the design then IMHO they are the same as NIMBY’s. We need stuff built and it all doesn’t have to be perfect.

Just a quick question. Can someone explain the difference between a NIMBY and the haters on this site? Both don’t want things built because of small superficial or made up in their own mind reasons.

Downtown and rail side of the Beltline have lots of new builds going on right now. There probably 1/2 dozen new builds going right now plus the 20+ conversions. On top of all the new stuff soon to start in the pipeline. We’ll never be Vancouver or Toronto because unlike those cities we have...
