@Alex_YYC I moved your post over here to the project's thread.

The old heritage apartment would have been nice to keep of course. My guess is Truman ran the numbers and it didn't make sense financially or they would have kept it somehow. The other possibility was the building needed a lot of money put into it. lot of work

    Stampede Station | 277.3m | 71s | Truman | NORR

I still love that original proposal for FCC. If they had built that second tower, it would be a standout, not just for the height, but architecturally as a cool looking design.

If only doing one line without spurs, it should stay on 17th. I can see someday down the road a spur might make sense given the amount of density going up in the west district area.

If they were to redevelop, it would definitely make sense to do u/g for the customers. They would have to do it for residents, and could throw in some extra space for shoppers. It would be great to see that parking lot go and have retail streetscape instead.

    Kit at Kensington | 50m | 15s | Jemm Properties | LOLA

Kensington Safeway would be perfect for a redevelopment, they could create a larger footprint by removing the parking lot, which isn't as busy as it used to be. They could have a combo of street retail and store front entrance on the street. That location already does far more foot traffic...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

Those would be great top see. Especially 5th street all the way to Elbow. For the one downtown, myself I would like to see it go through 6th ave and into EV and connecting to the main river pathway. But I can see the benefits of 5th also.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

If they could replace the glazing with more transparent glass, the building could look pretty cool.

    Alberta Provincial Politics

Agreed about the economy. I'm not saying the UCP is necessarily better for the economy, but there are voters who feel that way, some of those people I know personally, but I also know they don't want to leave confederation, and don't want separate pensions etc.. They also hate the tariffs. I...

    US Politics

Yeah, it's getting far crazier than I expected. I knew when he got elected the US and the rest of world indirectly would be in for a bumpy ride, but things feel like they are getting out of control. What scares me is that many of his supporters seem to know the direction things are going, but...

As we get closer to the election I suspect we'll hear more from Nenshi, but I agree, he's been pretty quiet for the most part. If I were Nenshi, my spin would be playing to the parallels with Smith/UCP and MAGA. The UCP has had a fair bit of support here in Calgary due to many people (rightly...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

It's good the city accommodated their needs, but I am familiar with the building, and I expect the loading to have people parked in it for long periods rather than use it for a loading zone. At least it's the only spot on the lane that has this exception.
