Only a month since our last update, and progress upon AVLI on Atlantic has advanced by leaps and bounds. In particular, the distinctive, scale-like metallic cladding that defines much of the structure has now been applied, along with most of the spandrel, and the balcony and window glass.

While commentary on our Forum has been swift to criticize what seems to be a perceived lack of fit and finish upon the metallic tiles, it must be noted that their overall aesthetic effect appears to be highly positive. Indeed, moving around to the rear of the structure, and evidence of a pleasing general vibe and character can be found in abundance.

Designed by Sturgess Architecture for Greenview Developments, the 7-storey, 64-unit, AVLI on Atlantic has grown into a fine addition within the bustling 9 AVE SE corridor at the heart of Inglewood. Bold, with sharp lines, and a distinctive silhouette, the structure will likely remain a standout piece of the local skyline for years to come.

Add to this package the planned collection of street-facing retail, and the project will no doubt be a success - AVLI on Atlantic but the latest in a series of new developments to grace the ever-changing neighbourhood.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
