Construction at The Hub has been fast and furious since we last reported on it in January, when the project was still in its infancy. In the five months since then, work has gotten underway on the foundation and podium, recent photos revealing the ARK-designed project to be well above grade.

Toronto-based Campus Suites began activity on the project back in Sept 2018, when excavation began, and the pace has been swift. Because the building is going to have only a single level of underground parking, the excavation and foundation work has gone quickly. Now we are ready to the watch the 28-storey, 328-unit residential tower rise into the Calgary sky.

With the building geared towards students, and situated near an LRT station close to Calgary's two largest post secondary facilities - one station away from the University of Calgary, and two stations away from S.A.I.T. (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) - a full scale underground parkade was not required.

With the podium only two floors high, it will not be long before construction starts on the tower portion of this ad the attached tower.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
