A month since our last update, and progress at PLATFORM has advanced significantly. The build site has transformed into a large excavation pit, with work crews and heavy machinery now highly active at the task of setting the foundations, and erecting the elevator shafts.
The 6-storey, mixed-use parking garage, retail outlet, and innovation centre by CMLC, Kasian, and 5468796 Architecture will be a one of a kind development for East Village. Five levels of parking will rest atop a two-storey retail space, which will be joined by the aforementioned, 50,000 sq. ft. innovation centre.
The $80 million project will have space for 508 cars, in addition to a nice blend of cafes, restaurants, and shops fronting onto ground level. Located at the heart of East Village, at 3 St SE and 9 Ave SE, PLATFORM will provide locals with a bevy of local services and entertainment options.
PLATFORM represents an excellent use of a multi-purpose facility, thereby satisfying many different needs within the neighbourhood. Once complete, PLATFORM will likely be a popular destination both for shoppers and diners as well as those just looking for a good place to park.
