Two months since our last update, and it would appear that construction is imminent at the future site of PLATFORM in East Village. The recent arrival of the crane, which was gradually assembled last week, signifies the opening of a new chapter for the build site, it to not be long now before the 6-level mixed-use development begins its ascent.

The $80 million PLATFORM by CMLCKasian, and 5468796 Architecture, will feature a multi-level parkade stacked atop two floors of prime retail and a 50,000 square-foot innovation centre. The five parking levels will have room for 508 cars, which ought to be more than enough to support the blend of cafes, shops, and restaurants, which will take up residence within the first two floors.

PLATFORM will go up at 3 St SE and 9 Ave SE in East Village, the development to help fill a void that currently exists within the area. The introduction of retail and dining options will serve the neighbourhood well, as will the 50,000 sq.-ft. innovation centre as set to go in above the retail level.

The multi-purpose PLATFORM packs a significant amount of utility into a well-designed package, the blend of parking, innovation centre, and retail to help diversify and expand the current offerings available within East Village.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
