Captured in a recent collection of images on our Forum, the latest views of M2 Block highlight the extent to which the unique mixed-use development has begun to truly ingratiate itself into East Village. Viewed below from the banks of the Bow River, the 4-storey M2 Block can be appreciated within its immediate urban context, with the backdrop of East Village and the downtown core clearly visible overhead.

Moving in for a closer look, a street view of M2 Block highlights the distinctive, "layer cake" approach taken by design leads XYC Design + Development and nArchitects. Retail will occupy the first floor, followed by two levels of office space, all of which will be capped by a fourth-storey penthouse suite.

Pulling back, the layer cake configuration is even more apparent, the off-kilter stacking of each subsequent floor giving the structure a distinct modern edge. From a practical standpoint, M2 Block's configuration will allow for multiple outdoor terraces, to be enjoyed by both the resident office employees and the sole private resident(s).

Well-situated within the heart of one of Calgary's fastest growing urban enclaves, M2 Block is a stand out structure amid a neighbourhood of highly innovative developments. Given the public interest in this development, it will no doubt be long before we return once again to M2 Block for further updates and images.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
