Three weeks since our last update, and Brio has continued to rise at a steady pace as cladding work continues. The multi-volume, 12-storey residential development by RioCan REIT and Boardwarlk REIT has almost reached its full height, and soon celebrate its topping off.

Brio's multi-tone spandrel paneling has been making quick progress as well, its grey, black, and beige mosaic now defining the bottom third of the structure. Located in the heart of Brentwood Village, within earshot of the Brentwood CTrain Station, and the University of Calgary, Brio joins numerous other high-density residential developments that have, or will soon enough, call the neighbourhood home.

Brio's "L" shaped design will allow for a modicum of surface parking on-site, with the base of the "L" to be host to a single floor of ground level retail. Retail bays can be made out in the images above and below, this addition to help enliven the immediate area and increase the amount of local pedestrian traffic.

Under construction since late 2017, Brio has been on the go for more than a year, with its completion date expected for late 2019. Once complete, Brio will be a fine addition to Brentwood Village - the perfect home for either students or young professionals looking to be close to the university.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
