Telus Sky's signature silhouette remains a photographic mainstay on our Forum, what will surely become one of Calgary's most iconic structures continuing to dazzle local photogs. Captured six weeks after our last update, progress on the crown level has continued at a steady pace, it to not be too long now before the crane can safely come down.

Designed by DIALOG and Bjarke Ingles for Westbank, the 58-storey, 326-unit, mixed-use, Telus Sky is set to become a truly standout fixture of Calgary's ever growing downtown skyline. From its curves to its upwards tapering, and from its transition between a smooth glass exterior to a boxy one, Telus Sky's unique profile and composition combine to great effect.

160,000 LEDs will eventually serve to light up the exterior of the tower upon its completion. Known as the "Northern Lights," the massive public art installation by Douglas Coupland will give the tower a distinctive nighttime glow.

Set to be capped with the "Skygarden" and an observation deck, Telus Sky will offer excellent views from the top of the tower. Once complete, Telus Sky will join several other iconic towers, its addition to more than likely be accepted as an exciting addition to the core.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
