Just a few weeks since our last update, and progress at the site of Cidex Group's West Village Towers has been moving along steadily. Rising fast at the corner of 11 St SW and 9 Ave SW, the three-tower residential development will soon deliver upwards of 800 new residents to the Downtown West End, spread across 554 units.

The three towers - at 150, 125, and 100 metres apiece - have been arranged with two towers facing directly onto 9 Ave SW, while the third will sit directly to the north within the same large property. While all three towers will be interconnected, the first two, as seen below, will be attached via a shared, multi-storey podium.

A long strip of ground floor retail will grace the 9 Ave SW frontage of the development, thereby bringing a much-needed commercial element to the area. Close to Shaw Millennium Park, the Bow River waterfront, and the West Kerby CTrain, West Village Towers will place its residents within convenient proximity to several key destinations, including the downtown core.

The base of the development will also include a sizeable outdoor public realm element in the form of a concrete plaza and terrace. Once completion, West Village Towers will be a welcome addition to the oft-overlooked Downtown West End.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
