Less than a month since our last update, and progress at the site of Cidex Group's West Village Towers has been moving steadily along. Located at 11 St SW and 9 Ave SW in the Downtown West End, the three-tower residential high-rise development will soon deliver 554 units to this long overlooked corner of the city.

The three towers will rise to 150, 100, and 125 metres respectively, the development as a whole to represent an influx of upwards of 800 new residents. The location will place residents within easy walking distance to several attractions, including Shaw Millennium Park, the Bow River waterfront path network, and the West Kerby CTrain station.

All three towers will be interconnected via their shared podium base, which will feature a host of ground-level retail and commercial space to be primarily accessed along its sprawling 9 Ave SW frontage. The project covers an entire city block, the build site having replaced a small store and a very large surface lot.

The base of the project will also include a sizeable public realm element in the form of a plaza and terrace. Once complete, West Village Towers will help animate the Downtown West End, the injection of some much needed pedestrian vibrancy to the area to be of benefit to all.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
