Two weeks since our last update, and progress continues to move quickly at the site of Cidex Group's West Village Towers. In particular, the three tower portions of the 554-unit residential development have been making steady ground, now rising several storeys above grade.

Located at 11 St SW and 9 Ave SW in the long-overlooked Downtown West End, West Village Towers will bring up to 800 new residents to the area, helping to invigorate the streetscape adjacent to Shaw Millennium Park. Residents will have an easy commute thanks to the project's close proximity to the West Kerby CTrain, this and the aforementioned park and nearby Bow River, combining to make this a highly walkable neighbourhood in the very near future.

West Village Towers, as the name suggests, will consist of a cluster of three similar towers, set at 150, 125, and 100 metres respectively. All three towers will be interconnected via a common podium level, which will be host to a full range of retail options and services.

While the addition of three high-rises to the area will be change enough, the inclusion of a significant public realm element to the project's base will help enliven the local streetscape. Once complete, residents and visitors alike will benefit from the added urban vibrancy that the project will represent.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
