It's been about three months since we last checked in on the progress at Qualex Landmark's Park Point development. In those three months, crews have made significant strides on the assembly of the structural concrete floor plates and the application of cladding. As construction continues into the warmer spring months, the latest estimate by the developer puts closings beginning on or about August 31, 2018.

Anchoring the corner of northwest corner of 12 Avenue SW and 2 Street SW, the 34-storey tower will overlook the historic Central Memorial Park in the heart of the booming Beltline neighbourhood. The location will put residents of the 289 units within walking distance of sought-after shops and restaurants. Naturally, there will also be a diverse range of amenities available to occupants, including a fully equipped fitness centre, kitchen-inclusive social lounge, and a zen terrace with a water feature.

Featuring one- and two-bedroom park-facing condominiums plus street-level live-work townhomes and penthouses, interiors feature granite kitchen countertops, wide-plank wood-laminate flooring and an open concept floor plan. Interiors by Trepp Design Inc. are also amplified by integrated kitchen cabinetry and appliances, with residents choosing between a 'dawn', 'noon, or 'dusk' colour scheme. Each home will feature exposures via open-air balconies or patios.

The lower levels of the IBI Group-designed project have been wrapped in glazing and spandrel, with the protruding sections sporting a charcoal colour arrangement in contrast to the adjacent milky white panels. Strips of yellow on the north elevation break up the monochrome aesthetic of the architecture. Over halfway to structural completion, Park Point only has a few more months of climbing before its skeleton is fully assembled.
