Weather and Gardening Discussion

I don't know the stats on year total, but over on the subreddit r/CalgaryWxRecords/ they had this posted the other day:View attachment 424787
Hot damn. August 29's low was only 0.6 below 10! We would still be on that dang streak til possibly Thursday! Woulda put us at 33 days, and first time with September on the board, with a new record.

We're now at 93 consecutive days above biological zero (5 C), an absolute record smash. We will certainly make it to 98 and the second latest into
September for any top 10 streak (Sept 8), and if Friday morning can sneak past with a 5.01, we will make it into the 100s, and potentially the 110s. This year is whack.

Hottest day of the year so far at 32.7°

Officially our hottest sept 4 ever (30.8° C so far).

Ours is nearly finished.
Just a few more carrots and lettuces to pick, another couple rows of beets and the poor old peas are making a desperate attempt to keep flowering.
Already pulled the beans and radishes, the dill went to seed mid summer.
Got heirloom tomato seeds from a neighbour and grew them in pots - amazing crop, just withered vines left, but still bearing!
The two cannabis by the lower garden are a worry - the heat made them put on lots of vegetative growth, but they're slow flowering.
Hope they don't get caught by the snow.. they're an OG-Cheese cross is the problem.
Our Green Crack growing against the fence are, like yours, 8' high, visible from the alley - and budding.
