Don't know much about it, but from the quick read, it looks big, and at the very least, positive for Calgary. The fact that Rockyview and Calgary are working together on it, is positive.
Who were the 2 bonehead councillors that voted against this ?Anyone know more of the details behind this? Like is it something new being constructed or just an abstract concept based around existing CPKC yards?

City eyes $7B in economic output from proposed logistics hub on Calgary's eastern edge
The city and Rocky View County have agreed to develop a rail-served logistics hub on Calgary's east edge they say will be transformational.calgaryherald.com
0.000001% chance of that.I hope this means CPKC are moving their yard out of the inner city
This got approved! Will be curious to see if there is a list of projects that accompany this plan. Spending up to $250 million a year on rec facilities for the next 25 years seems like it would build a crap ton of new things. How much was the Y in Seton?

What is GamePLAN? Council to consider 25-year spending plan to fund rec facilities
When it comes to recreational facilities, should the City of Calgary be making waves, going under, or staying afloat?calgaryherald.com
Really curious what the project prioritization will be. I don't even know if the other levels have government have even committed to fund the fieldhouse let alone this... The city can do somethings but they do still rely on funding from other levels of government.
Acoustic and Theatre Planning... hmmCMLC have a project delivery timeline and the project team listed for the Olympic Plaza redevelopment on their website.

Awesome - so they went with the “Making Waves” option ?
It is, but the field house isn't fully funded still. Sounds like the plan is, after demolitions, to put back in a simple baseball diamond for this summer at least. The demolition of foothill stadium is to make way for the field house I believe.
Do the Dawgs in Okotoks count? they have taken the small interest in baseball down there, and I'm ok with that.Calgary will now be the only major city in this country without even a minor league baseball stadium
